Just Keep Gaming Diaries - October 2026

October has been a great month for gaming. I managed to finish two more games whilst making good progress on others. Let me know in the comments what games you have been able to beat recently!
Currently Playing
TCG Card Shop Simulator
My little TCG shop has been getting bigger and bigger in the last month. This has been such an addictive game. I've managed to expand the size of the shops alongside getting more and more different products. As the gameplay is fairly simple, it's the perfect title to unwind and switch your brain off. I'm hoping to not only finish it in November but get the platinum trophy as well.
Final Fantasy Resonance

My excitement for a new Final Fantasy has been huge, especially as that new entry is filled to the brim with nostalgia and made in that incredible, HD-2D style. I'm roughly 8 hours into the game and loving everything about it so far. The music is excellent, the story is interesting, and the turn-based combat is solid. Perhaps my only grip is the UI is pretty ugly and sterile. That aside, this is shaping up to be an excellent entry in the long-running franchise.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
After finishing the first act for one of the characters, this has unfortunately taken the backseat on my Switch gaming (likely to continue with the Ocarina of Time Remake out). However, this is such an expansive game that will likely take months to complete and over a hundred hours by the end.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remastered
Similar to the above, I haven’t spent much time revisiting Geralt's standout adventure. With other recent releases taking priority, this will be one of those games that I play in the background for months. Although, I do intend to have it all finished before the new expansion comes out next year. This is my favourite game of all time for a reason, so I won't stay away from it for long!
Games Finished
Ball x Pit

The most recent game I have finished, Ball x Pit is a brilliant rogue-like that will have you hooked. I played this for at least an hour nearly every day for a month. It's chaotic and therapeutic gameplay was exactly what I needed after work, and a pretty easy platinum trophy was the icing on the cake. I wrote a short review for it, which you can read here!
The Blood of Dawnwalker
If you follow me on X (Twitter), you would know that I have been raving about The Blood of Dawnwalker. For a developer’s debut game (albeit formed by veterans that worked on The Witcher 3), this is an astonishing and utterly captivating adventure. Coen is an engaging protagonist and his story is a heartbreaking one. The side quests often rivalled the main story and the characters you meet are equally interesting. I aim to have a full review up in the next few weeks.
November will be a busy month - with my penultimate accountancy exam on the 30th, I will be juggling revising for that alongside work and getting in gaming where I can. I will definitely be making the time for the Ocarina of Time remake. Hope anyone who reads this has a great month and catch up in December!
Thanks for reading :)

Excellent read
