Introducing Just Keep Gaming

It seems like forever since I was last sat in front of my laptop, writing a post for my little gaming blog and its' modest audience. Almost two years ago, without realising, I wrote the last post I'd publish on the Honest Gamer blog. It was my annual awards style post where I talked about the many games released in 2023 that I finished and which ones stood above the rest in a plethora of categories.

Baldur's Gate 3 was my 2023 Game of the Year then.

I began my original blog all the way back in 2017, when I had started University studying History. I love video games and talking about them. A blog felt like a great, creative outlet for me to not only write about the hobby I adored, but also connect with like-minded people across the blogger-space and social media. Over the years I wrote numerous different posts and reviewed countless games. I even managed to receive codes for some of said reviews as well. I had a few posts go relatively viral as well, racking up thousands of views and often 10s or 100s of views every day. For me, that was insane and something I didn't expect.

Unfortunately, a few years after graduating and I began my career in accountancy, as well as numerous life hurdles, my blog took the backseat. I could just never find the time (or even motivation) to sit down and write something.

It wasn't till a few months ago I had the sudden drive to get back into it. But the OG blog felt so far removed from where I am as a person now. It was synonymous to me with my time at uni and the inevitable struggles that followed post-graduation. In the few years since I stopped posting regularly, I have come out as gay, started a career I really enjoy despite the stress at times, been together with my boyfriend for over 2 years and moved out with him. I needed to give this return to writing a new coat of paint...a fresh start essentially. Just like how my life has really progressed in leaps and bounds.

So here we are...

Just Keep Gaming is the evolution of my Honest Gamer blog. I came up with the name as spin on the famous quote by Dory in Finding Nemo. It really is my motto in my life, as gaming has been my escape consistently throughout the years.

I will be writing a variety of content on this website; from casual updates on what I'm playing at the moment, long and short form reviews, list-style posts, as well as my thoughts on the latest news.
